Own True North — Life by Design

Own True North — Life by Design

Something deeper guides every decision you make.

At the centre of your life sits a quiet but persistent orientation — shaped by what draws you forward, what you protect against, and what you believe ultimately matters. We call it your True North.

The Core

True North is not a goal you set.
It is the force that precedes your goals.

Even when you are unaware of it, your True North subtly organises your choices, relationships, ambitions, and reactions. It is formed from three intertwined elements.

True
North

Your inner gravitational pull

Longings

What genuinely draws you forward and makes you feel most alive. Not what you think you should want — what you cannot stop wanting, even when it is inconvenient.

Wounds

The pains and fears that shape what you protect against. These are not weaknesses to fix — they are the invisible architecture that bends your decisions before you make them.

Values

What you believe ultimately matters. Not the values on your wall — the ones that actually govern how you spend your time, energy, and attention when no one is watching.

The Four Drivers

How your core expresses itself
in everyday life.

When aligned, these drivers create coherence. When wounds dominate, each one distorts.

Security
Stability, safety, and the confidence that your foundation is solid.
When distorted
→ Control. Rigidity, over-planning, and the inability to tolerate uncertainty.
Connection
Genuine closeness, belonging, and emotional reciprocity.
When distorted
→ Dependency. People-pleasing, loss of self, and relationships built on need rather than choice.
Freedom
Autonomy, options, and the space to move without constraint.
When distorted
→ Avoidance. Restlessness, commitment-aversion, and mistaking escape for independence.
Significance
Purpose, contribution, and the sense that your life matters.
When distorted
→ Validation-seeking. Performance, comparison, and tying self-worth to external recognition.

Alignment is not perfection.

It is the gradual reorientation of your outer life toward the deeper truth already guiding you within. The Life Matrix does not calculate your True North — it reveals the patterns of imbalance, compensation, and vitality that point back to it.

The Diagnosis

You are functioning, but you are not thriving. You have lost sight of what drives you and what you really want from life.

So you keep living on autopilot. Choosing comfort, not pushing yourself, repeating the same cycles you have done for years.

Recognition Patterns

  • 01The same cycles show up — spiralling positively, then spiralling negatively, on repeat
  • 02Day to day function, no fulfilment — you can operate each day, but you are not thriving
  • 03You want more — you have hit certain goals and built a life that looks okay, but it is not enough
  • 04You have more to give — you are not being stretched, challenged, or growing
  • 05You sometimes feel lost in familiar environments — a disconnect that was not always there

What You Build

A concrete operating system.
Designed by you. Built for you.

Together, we unpick and redesign the structure you use to make life decisions. You leave with a system that does not fluctuate, brings you peace, and is repeatable every single day.

Your system determines

What you pursue — and with what intensity
What you decline — without guilt or second-guessing
What trade-offs you accept — and which ones you refuse
How you evaluate opportunities — before they evaluate you
How you know a decision is correct — before outcomes appear

Afterwards you do not need motivation to act consistently. You follow your own system because it is based on instincts you can trust.

What This Is

Not therapy. Not coaching.
It is Life Design.

A structured process that builds your personal decision architecture from your own internal compass — which over the years has become uncalibrated to who you are today.

Not therapy

Structural, not emotional

This isn't processing the past. It's engineering how you make decisions going forward. Architecture, not archaeology.

Not coaching

Systems, not sessions

Alex doesn't give you answers or hold you accountable. He builds the decision-making infrastructure that makes external accountability unnecessary.

Not motivation

Resolution, not inspiration

You don't leave pumped up. You leave with a system that resolves decisions automatically — so you stop deliberating and start acting.

I'd been going back and forth on the same career decision for two years. After working with Alex, I made it in a week — and I haven't looked back. Not because I felt motivated. Because the answer was suddenly obvious.

— J.M., Product Lead, London

I expected something like coaching. What Alex actually does is completely different. He helped me build a framework I still use every time a big decision lands on my desk. It's like having a personal algorithm for the stuff that matters.

— S.R., Founder, Manchester

The thing that surprised me was how practical it was. No journaling exercises, no values worksheets. Alex just systematically helped me figure out what I actually want and built the decision logic around it. Genuinely useful.

— A.K., Strategy Consultant, Edinburgh

I was sceptical. I'd done therapy, I'd done exec coaching, I'd read the books. This was the first thing that actually changed how I make decisions day to day. Alex is sharp, direct, and doesn't waste your time.

— D.L., VP Engineering, Bristol

I turned down a job offer three weeks after finishing the programme. A year ago I would have taken it reflexively. The fact that I could see clearly why it was wrong for me — without agonising — that's what the sessions with Alex gave me.

— R.T., Portfolio Manager, London

What Alex builds with you isn't motivational — it's mechanical. In the best possible way. I now have a repeatable way to evaluate any major decision. That sounds dry but it's completely changed how I operate.

— N.H., Senior Associate, Birmingham

I stopped saying yes to things that looked good on paper but felt wrong in practice. That shift happened because Alex helped me articulate what 'wrong' actually meant — and then we built the criteria to catch it early.

— L.C., Head of Ops, Leeds

The Process

Four phases.
One operating system.

A structured process that moves from exploration to architecture to self-governance and autonomous decision making.

01
Weeks 1–3

Identify

Map your life across eight dimensions. Disassemble the current operating model to identify where reality diverges from intention. We look at where you are misaligned.

Outcome → Complete decision landscape and life map

02
Weeks 4–6

Build

Surface the patterns, contradictions, and inherited defaults operating beneath your conscious decision-making. What is actually driving your choices — not what you think is.

Outcome → Systemic decision architecture refinement

03
Weeks 7–9

Define Standards

Construct your personal operating principles — the decision criteria that govern what you pursue, what you decline, and what trade-offs you accept. Your internal compass, solidified.

Outcome → Instincts you can trust due to pure alignment

04
Weeks 10–12

Own It

You now know your cycles, and the protocols you need to maintain alignment without external dependency. This is where the real work begins — and that is the point.

Outcome → Nobody is going to save you, except you

Begin

Two ways to start.

Both begin with a conversation. Both give you clarity before any commitment.
